Landlord refuses to install window guards: Israeli law requires window guards in homes with children. Send a written demand (registered mail or email with read receipt). If the landlord still refuses, you may install guards yourself and deduct the cost from rent, or contact your local municipality building inspector

Window guard has a gap wider than 10 cm: Temporarily block the gap with a rigid board or additional bars secured with cable ties. Arrange for a professional to weld or add bars to bring the guard into compliance

Cannot find cordless blinds that fit the windows: Use curtains instead of blinds, or install a roller shade with a spring mechanism (no cord). For existing corded blinds, use cord cleats and cut any loops immediately
