Emergency response protocol for heat exhaustion and heat stroke in children, including assessment, cooling, and when to call MDA. Apply when: When a child shows signs of heat-related illness: intense thirst, headache, profuse sweating, pale clammy skin, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, muscle cramps, floppiness or unusual sleepiness (young children), or more severe signs such as hot dry red skin, confusion, seizures, or loss of consciousness.
