Asthma Attack

First aid for an asthma attack: position upright, administer rescue inhaler, and call 101 if symptoms do not improve. Apply when: Person is experiencing an asthma attack: shortness of breath, wheezing, persistent coughing, chest tightness, difficulty speaking, or visible breathing effort. Severe signs include inability to complete a sentence, cyanosis (blue lips/fingertips), silent chest, or no response to inhaler.
